#A199 bass (Bartell)

Here’s another Widow prototype that was listed on The Guitar Broker’s website years ago.

“This is a very interesting & highly original example that’s rare as hell, this cool hollow body bass was made by Bartell for the Acoustic Control Company & was their “Show Model” shown perhaps at the NAMM show, its groovy Cherry Sunburst finish shows off its cool design as most were painted w/a black finish, its 2 pickups sound bold as they should w/its lined “Ebonite” Fretless fingerboard that really gave it that Upright Bass tone like a good Ampeg AEB-1 Bass, its got a large & well made back pad still intact, its 4 huge original radio knobs pull this strange bass all together, even Jimi Hendrix played a Black Widow guitar !

This is a great way to have a 1 of a kind bass w/great playability & historic significance of where the electric bass was headed, it is excellent overall, 100% original & comes in its original Black Victoria Luggage hard case.”
